Ramón Maximiliano Valdés (born October 13, 1867 in Penonomé , United States of Colombia , † June 3, 1918 in Panama City ) was the seventh President of Panama .

Shortly after studying law in Colombia , he was actively involved in politics and became an important member of the Liberal Party (Partido Liberal Nacional). In 1916 he was run by his party as a presidential candidate, he won the election. On October 1, 1916, he took over from the previous president, Belisario Porras Barahona, and remained in office until June 3, 1918, when he died while he was there. His successor in the office of President was Ciro Luis Urriola .

During his tenure, too, his main concern was the freedom of the isthmus , the part of central Panama occupied by Colombia. In 1898 he published the book Geography of Panama , which was published in English and French. The Political Parties followed in Panama in 1911 .
