Marcos Nicolás Senesi Barón (born May 10, 1997 in Concordia ) is an Argentine soccer player who has been under contract with the honorary division Feyenoord Rotterdam since September 2019 . The central defender has also been an Argentina U23 international since that time.

Career

Senesi joined the youth department of CA San Lorenzo de Almagro , an association from the Argentine capital Buenos Aires , at the age of 13 . There he signed his first professional contract in January 2016. He was promoted to the first team for the 2016/17 season. He made his debut in the top Argentinian league on September 25, 2016 (4th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against CA Patronato . During this season he played 11 appearances for the first team.

On September 16, 2017 (3rd matchday) Senesi scored the first time for San Lorenzo de Almagro in the home game against Arsenal de Sarandí , when he scored the winning goal in the 76th minute of the game to win the game 1-0. In this 2017/18 season he played 13 league games, in which he scored the same goal. In the following season 2018/19 he made his breakthrough as a regular player and he was used in 23 of 25 possible league games.

After he had spent all of the preparation for the 2019/20 season at San Lorenzo de Almagro and had already played four league games, he moved to the Netherlands on September 2, 2019 for honorary division Feyenoord Rotterdam . The club secured the services of the central defender for a fee of seven million euros and provided him with a four-year contract. He made his debut on September 22nd (7th matchday) in a 3-3 draw against FC Emmen . After brief initial difficulties, he became a regular under head coach Dick Advocaat and scored his first goal for Trots van Zuid in a 3-2 home win against RKC Waalwijk on November 10 (matchday 13) . In this 2019/20 season , he played 16 league games in which he scored a goal.

National team

Senesi took part in the U20 World Cup 2017 in South Korea with the Argentine U20 national team. There he was used in all three group games over the full distance of 90 minutes. In the only point win of the selection, the 5-0 win over Guinea , Senesi scored a goal.

He has been working for the U23s since September 2019 .
