Marko Ljubić (born April 29, 1984 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with KHL Mladost Zagreb since 2009 and has played with the club in the International Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Marko Ljubić began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at KHL Zagreb , for whom he played in the Croatian league , in 2003 he moved to local rivals KHL Medveščak Zagreb , where he was mainly used in the multinational interleague , but also in the Slovenian and Croatian leagues League was on the ice. In 2007 he became Croatian national champion with Medveščak. After interrupting his career in the 2008/09 season, Ljubić has been playing for KHL Mladost Zagreb since 2009 , for which he was on the ice in the Slohokej League from 2009 to 2012 in addition to his appearances in the Croatian league . Since 2017 he has competed with the team in the International Hockey League .

International

For Croatia , Ljubić took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships of the European Division II 2000 and Division II 2001 and 2002 as well as the U20 World Championships of Division II 2001 , 2002 and 2004 and Division I 2003 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2002 , 2003 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 and in the World Championships in Division II in 2004 , 2005 , 2007 , 2011 and 2012 . He also played for Croatia in qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 , Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018 .
