Artistically, Martin Geisler uses photography and painting as a medium of expression for dealing with grotesque and paradoxical subjects. In particular, he devotes himself to portrait and nude photography , in which he explores aesthetic limits. The sometimes monstrous-gruesome, but also comical images sometimes disturb when looking at and question existing patterns about identity, beautiful and ugly. In addition to creating the pictures, Geisler places a special focus on working with models. The representation and development of their personality is both part of the creation process and the basis of the finished images. Geisler has been running the Augenscheinlicht online gallery since 2011 and the studio of the same name in Erfurt since 2019 .
