Matthias Buth ( pseudonym : Matthias Bucht ; born May 25, 1951 in Wuppertal ) is a German lawyer , poet and writer .

Life

Matthias Buth studied law at the University of Cologne ; 1985 PhD . From 1981 he was cultural advisor at the Rhineland Regional Council , then in the Federal Ministry for Internal German Relations , later Ministerialrat in the department "Literature, Music, Fine Arts of the German Cultural Areas in Eastern Europe" in the Federal Ministry of the Interior , from 1998 in the Federal Chancellery at the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM) Head of Deutsche Welle , international media and finally head of the legal department. Matthias Buth lived in Cologne until 1985 , since then in Rösrath-Hoffnungsthal . He is now a lawyer .

Matthias Buth has published poems , essays , feature sections and reviews since 1973 . He is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) . In 1981 he received the advancement award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for literature , in 1991 the Amsterdam scholarship of the Berlin Senate . He is one of the founders of the Else Lasker-Schüler-Gesellschaft in Wuppertal .

His poems and prose have been translated into Arabic, English, French, Polish, Romanian, Turkish and Czech and set to music in chamber music and choral works by Thomas Blomenkamp (Meerbusch), Bernd Hänschke (Duisburg), Abel Ehrlich (Tel Aviv), Wolfgang Hildemann ( Düsseldorf), Hermann Große-Schware (Krefeld) and for the ensemble “Kunstkopf” by Ulrich Heimann (Dortmund).

Since 1986 he has been the organizer and moderator of the “Rösrather Literature Talks” and writes political feature articles for Deutschlandradio Kultur (Berlin). The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) presented his poetry several times.
