Maximilian "Maxi" Schafroth (* 1985 in Memmingen ) is a German cabaret artist , actor , presenter and filmmaker .

life and career

Maxi Schafroth grew up on his parents' farm in Stephansried , a district of Ottobeuren in Upper Swabia . After graduating from school, Schafroth learned the profession of banker and began developing his cabaret program in 2007, parallel to his work as a bank clerk. Together with his guitarist Markus Schalk, he made his first appearances in the Munich clubhouse , the youth stage of the Munich laughing and shooting society . Schafroth gained greater fame with a guest appearance on the Ottis Schlachthof broadcast by Bayerischer Rundfunk in February 2009. In March 2009, the premiere of his cabaret program Faszination Allgäu at the Munich slaughterhouse followed. Schafroth has been on tour nationwide with his program since 2012. In October 2014 he performed as part of the 1LIVE Comedy Night together with other artists in front of 11,000 spectators in Cologne's Lanxess Arena. In 2016 he was on the road with his solo program “Fascination Bavaria”.

From 2007 to 2009 Schafroth played in the youth club of the Münchner Kammerspiele and acted as an actor in various short films. In 2008 he developed and produced the history satire Preussens Gloria together with Raphael Dwinger . After completing his training as a scriptwriter in 2009, Schafroth received a scholarship from the MedienCampus Bayern and deepened his knowledge of film production in Los Angeles, California.

Schafroth made his cinema debut in the film comedy Sommer der Gaukler by director Marcus H. Rosenmüller , which was released in German cinemas in December 2011. One year later, Whoever Believes Will Be Blessed, by the same director followed. In 2012, Schafroth was seen as assistant to Commissioners Batic and Leitmayr in the Munich crime scene . In 2015 he appeared as Conchita Wurst at the traditional strong beer tapping at Nockherberg . There he was in 2016 as the superego of Horst Seehofer to see.

As part of the concert performance of the work Candide by Leonard Bernstein by the choir and orchestra ensemble MünchenKlang in April 2016, Schafroth acted in the role of speaker and recited interim texts by Loriot .

From February 2018 to the end of 2019 he moderated the satirical program " Extra 3 Spezial - Der real Irrsinn XXL" on NDR television. Schafroth also regularly appears in changing roles in regular Extra 3 programs.

In 2019, Schafroth was the youngest speaker to date and the first from Allgäu to give the lent speech at the traditional Derblecken on the Nockherberg .
