The Town of Medina is located in southern Wisconsin, in the eastern suburbs of the capital Madison . The town is traversed from west to east by the Maunesha River , which belongs to the Mississippi river basin via the Crawfish and Rock River . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota, located on the Mississippi, is about 216 km to the west-northwest; to Illinois it is around 75 km south.
The coordinates of the geographic center of the Town of Medina are 43 ° 08'33 "north latitude and 89 ° 03'59" west longitude. It extends over an area of 87.6 km². The independent community of Marshall is completely enclosed by the Town of Medina without belonging to it.

The Interstate 94 limits the Town of Medina to the south. Wisconsin State Highway 19 runs through the north in a west-east direction . The Wisconsin State Highway 73 runs north to south through the center of the town. All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
A railway line of the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad , a regional ( Class II ) freight transport company, runs through the north of the Town of Medina in a west-east direction . The only passenger in the region is from Chicago circulating to the West Coast Empire Builder from Amtrak , which stops in Madison.
