Metropolitan Borough of St Marylebone
The Metropolitan Borough of St Marylebone was a district in the metropolitan area of the British capital London with the status of a Metropolitan Borough . It existed from 1900 to 1965 and was located in the north-west of the former County of London .
history
St Marylebone was originally a Civil parish in the county of Middlesex . From 1855, the community belonged to the catchment area of the Metropolitan Board of Works . In 1889, St Marylebone became part of the County of London, and was converted into a Metropolitan Borough eleven years later.
At the foundation of Greater London in 1965, the Metropolitan Borough was created from the merger Paddington , St Marylebone and Westminster , the City of Westminster .
