Mindcollision is a rap metal band from the canton of Zug , Switzerland . The five-piece band combines musical styles such as metal , rap , djent , DJing and hip-hop .

history

The band was formed in September 2009 from Mitch Schuler ( vocals ), André Murer ( electric guitar ), Patrick Boog ( drums ) and Buddy Stocker ( bass ), who have played together under the name Minerva since 2002 .

In May 2012 Mindcollision released their debut album Madhouse , which was recorded in the Hardstudios in Winterthur and produced by Michael Brändli. The album is distributed by Sounds & Media from Hombrechtikon and was released physically and digitally.

Thanks to the new album, the clothing label SRH Switzerland became aware of the band shortly afterwards and asked them for a support contract.

At the beginning of 2014, William Kläy became a member of the band and replaced Buddy Stocker as bassist.

During this time Mindcollision played nationwide concerts in the cantons of Bern, Lucerne, Zurich, Wallis and Uri. The band was able to gain a lot of live experience on a wide variety of stages in the Swiss scene. Among other things, Mindcollision played together with Scream Your Name , Delilahs , Silent Circus, and twice as opening act for the British alternative / nu-metal band Skindred , but also at various festivals such as B. at the “Barbarie” in Biel (2013), “Rock The Docks” in Zug (2011, 2013) or at the Swiss “Pfadi Folk Fest (PFF) Moods” (2015).

Mid-2015 the band with DJ Freddy K reinforcement has the turntables fetched.

In September 2015, Mindcollision released their first music video for their song Insanity . The video was recorded in Poland under the direction and direction of film production Grupa 13 , who have already produced videos for well-known bands such as Eluveitie .

The band's second album is called Urban Playground and was released in October 2015. Urban Playground was recorded in the SMAKsound Studios in Dietikon (ZH) and consists of ten original compositions. The texts often touch on socially critical topics and are intended to stimulate questioning and wake-up calls. The style of the new album has a real hardness boost and is characterized by djentige seven-pager sounds and fat hooklines .

Shortly after the publication of Urban Playground , the band was invited to a live interview on German-speaking Swiss radio SRF 3 and the online magazines rawk.ch and pitfire wrote reviews of the newly published work. An album review was also published in the Swiss magazine RCKSTR in the November issue.

In January 2016 Mindcollision played in the opening act for the French rap metal band Smash Hit Combo and in March the band was allowed to appear as the only opening act for the British rap metal band Hacktivist . In addition, Mindcollision was one of the main acts at the Macbeth Joker Fest in Lyss on April 9, 2016, together with Scream Your Name and Breakdown of Sanity .

Due to the great success of Urban Playground , the band made their first appearance in Germany . She played there on April 22, 2016 the Impericon festival in the turbine hall Oberhausen on the Mainstage .

On June 9, 2016 allowed Mind Collision as a short-term replacement for the British Mathcore band Architects at Greenfield Festival to step in in Interlaken and at 21:00 on the Eiger Stage occur.

In March 2017 the band was back in Germany and played together with Annisokay and Imminence at the Emp RAWR Party in the Matrix Bochum and on August 26, 2017 they performed alongside Eskimo Callboy and Anti-Flag at the Open Air Gränichen .

Thanks to the successful appearance at the Greenfield Festival in 2016, Mindcollision was booked again for the festival and was allowed to perform on the main stage of the Greenfield Festival 2018 on June 8, 2018.

In the summer of 2018 the band was allowed to tour Europe together with (hed) pe and Crazy Town, where they played in 6 different countries within 9 days.

On September 27, 2019, their third studio album, Delirium, was released, which was recorded again at SMAKsound Studios. The album contains twelve original compositions including two featurings with Frankie Palmeri from Emmure and Ives Irie from Delinquent Habits . With the album, the band reached various chart positions for the first time, including in Switzerland.
