Mineral County is a county in the state of Nevada in the United States . The county seat is Hawthorne .

The county has an area of ​​9,876 square kilometers, 146 square kilometers of which is water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Lyon County , Churchill County , Nye County , Esmeralda County, and Mono County, California.

history

Mineral County was established in 1911 from the northwestern part of Esmeralda County . The county derives its name from its natural soil, which is heavily mineralized .

The racial the population was composed of 73.89% White, 4.77% African American, 15.36% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, and 2.68% other races Groups; 2.39% were from two or more races.
