Miss Universe 1932
The competition for the Miss Universe 1932 was the second to be held worldwide with the participation of the Comité pour l'election de Miss Europe . The Comité was founded in 1928 by the French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874-1946) and organized the election of Miss Europe from 1929 to 1938. Waleffe had previously founded the competition for Miss France . He and his committee had agreed with the hosts that all Miss Europe candidates were also qualified for the Miss Universe. (Occasionally, however, other participants from the respective country competed).
The non-European candidates were selected in their countries of origin according to different criteria.
The competition
The event took place on July 31, 1932 in the Casino de Spa in the Belgian spa town of Spa . There were 28 applicants. The placements of the participants are not known apart from the winner.

Follow-up competitions
Miss Universe elections did not take place in 1933 and 1934. It was not until 1935 that the last such event took place before the Second World War . Nor is there any evidence that they were ever planned.
