Miss Universe 1931
The beauty contest for the Miss Universe 1931 was held under the name Sixth International Pageant of pulchritude and Twelfth Annual Bathing Girl Revue on June 16, 1931 in Galveston (Texas) instead. Around 150,000 spectators are said to have watched the swimsuit parade on Galveston Boulevard every year.
There were 36 applicants (28 from the United States and 8 foreign women). The first ten placed won cash prizes and the winner also won the Miss Universe title .
