The beauty contest for the Miss Universe 1928 was held under the name Third International Pageant of pulchritude and Ninth Annual Bathing Girl Revue on June 4, 1928 in Galveston (Texas) instead. Around 150,000 spectators are said to have watched the swimsuit parade on Galveston Boulevard every year.

There were 42 applicants (32 from the United States and 10 foreign women). The first ten placed won cash prizes and the winner also won the Miss Universe title .

Results

Miss Chicago, Ella Van Hueson, won first place and the title of Miss Universe 1928. Your prize money was 2,000 dollars .

The runner-up received $ 1,000, the third place winner 250, and the fourth to tenth place holders each received $ 100.
