Miss Universe 1983

The competition for the 32nd Miss Universe with 80 participants took place on July 11, 1983 in the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis . The winner of the competition Lorraine Downes from New Zealand was crowned by last year's winner Karen Dianne Baldwin from Canada. This was the first and only time New Zealand has won the competition.
