Miss Universe 1929
The beauty contest for the Miss Universe 1929 was held under the name Fourth International Pageant of pulchritude and Tenth Annual Bathing Girl Revue , from 8 to 12 June 1929 in Galveston (Texas) instead. Around 150,000 spectators are said to have watched the swimsuit parade on Galveston Boulevard every year.
There were 44 women applicants (34 from the United States and 10 foreign women). The first ten placed won cash prizes on June 11th and the winner also won the Miss Universe title .

44 young women took part in the 1929 competition. That was the highest number achieved in this competition. Among them were ten foreign women, a number that only came about in 1928 and 1929.
