Moselle Eifel
As Moseleifel the southeastern strip is Osteifel left side of the Mosel Denoted by Trier downstream to Moselkern runs; in the southwest it does not extend as far as the Moselle valley . It is located exclusively in Rhineland-Palatinate and is a hilly plateau and about half of it is forested.

The Moseleifel extends in a south-west-north-east direction along the Moselle and partly away from the river between Trier-Ehrang at the confluence of the Kyll into the Moselle and Moselkern at the confluence of the Elzbach into the same Rhine tributary. The elevations of the Moselle Eifel are lower than those of the very unspoilt Vulkaneifel adjacent to the north and only exceed heights of 400 m above sea level in a few places . NHN - at the sheepfold near Bremm a maximum of 423 m above sea level. NHN . On the other (south-eastern) side of the Moselle valley with its many meanders and famous castles , the somewhat higher mountain ridge of the Hunsrück rises .

The elevations and viewpoints to the left of the Moselle valley include (arranged downstream) - with heights in meters (m) above sea level (MSL; unless otherwise stated according to):
- Rothenberg (365.3 m), near Ürzig
- Fieberberg (approx. 400 m), near the loop of the Traben-Trarbach river
- Elevation of Arras Castle (250.6 m) and the Barl (282.5 m), near the loop of the Kaimt / Barl river
- Calmont (380.6 m) and sheepfold (423.0 m), by the river loop of Bremm
- Klottenberg and Ellerberg (352 and 385 m)
- Eltz Castle (143.9 m), near Wierschem
A little further inland - towards the Vulkaneifel - are:
- the Eickelslay (390 m), often with a wide panoramic view
- the Falkenley (413.7 m), near Bad Bertrich , north of the Kondelwald
- the Asberg (354.8 m), at Salmrohr
Others
The region is a popular holiday area and belongs to the Mittelmosel wine-growing region . This is characterized by a large number of small, renowned family-owned wineries. The Mosel Wine Road leads through the relatively steep Moselle valley , while the railway only runs as far as the first loop of the river near Zell in the valley and then leads up to the hilly plateau.
