Muğdat Çelik (born January 3, 1990 in Mersin ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

Çelik, whose family emigrated from Diyarbakir a few years before he was born , was born in the southern Turkish city of Mersin . Here he began with the club football in the youth from the local traditional club Kuvayi Milliye SK . At this club he was noticed by the talent scouts of the first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara , who brought him to their youth department in the summer of 2005. In the summer of 2007 he received a professional contract with this club, but continued to play almost exclusively for the reserve team. Only in a cup game on January 6, 2008, he made his professional debut against Manisaspor . With the 2008/09 season he was loaned to various third and fourth division teams for about 2.5 years without being able to establish himself with these clubs.

For the second half of the 2010/11 season, he moved to the fourth division Nazilli Belediyespor . With this club he reached the playoffs of the league at the end of the season, failed here in the semifinals to Lüleburgazspor . The following season they became champions of the league and rose directly to the TFF 2nd Lig . Çelik scored twelve goals this season, making him the most accurate player on his team. In the third division season 2012/13 he reached the playoffs with his club and failed here in the quarterfinals to Bayrampaşaspor . With his 24 goals, Çelik played a major role in reaching the playoffs. He himself was top scorer in the TFF 2nd Lig .

On January 21, 2014 Çelik moved to the second division Balıkesirspor . He played there for two years and moved to Akhisar Belediyespor in February 2016 . With Akhisar Belediyespor, Çelik won the Turkish Cup at the end of the 2017/18 season. His contract was not renewed by Akhisar and Galatasaray Istanbul signed the striker on a free transfer. In the 2018/19 season, Çelik was Turkish champion and cup winner with Galatasaray.

After just one season, he left Galatasaray with the end of the contract and the contract option not drawn and instead moved on to the newly promoted Gaziantep FK within the Turkish league .
