Mustafa Şentop (born August 6, 1968 in Tekirdağ ) is a Turkish lawyer , university professor , member of parliament and President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey since 2018 .

Life

Şentop is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University . SENTOP has his master's and doctoral studies in the field of public law at Marmara University completed. His academic career began there in 1993 as a research assistant at the Faculty of Law. In 2002, Şentop received his doctorate, in 2005 he became a docent and in 2011 he became a full professor. In addition to Marmara University, he was a lecturer at Fatih , Maltepe , Işık , Doğuş and the University of Commerce. In addition, he performed various administrative tasks at Marmara University as Vice Dean and Faculty Council and was a member of the Faculty's administrative board.

Since his student days, Şentop has worked as an author and editor for various magazines. He was also head of the Ekonomik ve Sosyal Araştırmalar Merkezi (ESAM, Economic and Social Research Center) in Istanbul.

Political career

Mustafa Şentop is a member of the AKP in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the constituency “Istanbul III” and was elected vice-president of his party on October 4, 2012.

Private

Mustafa Şentop is of Albanian origin, married and has four children.
