NGC 1713 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Orion the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 194 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 80,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1709 and NGC 1719 , among others .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on January 1, 1786 .
