NGC 3590 is a galactic open star cluster in the constellation Carina that was discovered in 1835 by John Herschel using an 18.7-inch telescope . The age of NGC 3590 is estimated to be around 30 million years. It is only 5 ′, 8 and thus a few parsecs away from the open star cluster Hogg 12 .
