NGC 3598 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 271 million light years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3592 , NGC 3599 , NGC 3602 , IC 2703 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 4, 1865 .
