NGC 3600 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is around 33 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 40,000 light years .
The object was discovered on January 14, 1788 by the astronomer William Herschel with his 18.7-inch telescope .
