NGC 3619 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 73 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years across. Together with four other galaxies, it is a member of the NGC 3642 group ( LGG 234 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3613 and NGC 3625 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 18, 1790 .
