NGC 3595 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 99 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light-years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3577 and NGC 3583 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on February 5, 1788 .
