NGC 3790 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Leo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 150 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 3801 , NGC 3802 , NGC 3803 , NGC 3806 are in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 17, 1784 .
