history

The company was founded in 1947 by the director Harald Braun , the screenwriter Jacob Geis and the lawyer Wolf Schwarz . Brigadier General Robert A. McClure as representative of the American military government issued the license on November 20, 1946 . “ Between Yesterday and Tomorrow ” was the name of the first feature film that was made under the direction of Harald Braun in the founding year. The main roles were played by Hildegard Knef and Viktor de Kowa.

Before the ndF became independent again in 2003, it was part of KirchMedia's Taurus production . In April 2003 the managing partners Claudia Sihler-Rosei and Hansjörg Füting, together with the author Michael Baier and the family of the company founder Wolf Schwarz , took over the company shares from TaurusProduktion. Since then, the ndF has again been the largest independent producer of fictional programs in Germany.
