Nižná ( Hungarian Nizsna , Polish Niżna ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia .

It is located in the Orava Valley at the foot of the Oravská Magura, 5 km from Tvrdošín and 25 km from Dolný Kubín .
In addition to the main town, the settlement Zemianska Dedina (incorporated in 1985) belongs to the municipality .
