Nicolò Alessio Paganini (born June 8, 1966 in Herisau ; resident in Bischofszell ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Paganini completed his Matura in Frauenfeld and then studied economics and law at the University of Bern and the University of St. Gallen before he was admitted to the Thurgau bar . From 1996 to 1999 he was a member of the management of a winery in Münsterlingen , after which he devoted himself to independent legal work as a lawyer until 2002. From 2002 to 2007 Paganini was head of the Office for Economic Affairs of the canton of St. Gallen , then until 2011 department head for the St. Galler Kantonalbank . In 2011 Paganini was elected as the new director by the board of directors of Olma Messen St. Gallen - the operating cooperative of the St. Gallen exhibition center and the OLMA Swiss trade fair for agriculture and food .

The trained beer sommelier became politically active at an early age. So he sat 1992-2002 in the Grand Council of the Canton of Thurgau , he of which two years as president of the CVP Group had, and he was also from 1994 to 1996 mayor of the municipality of Zihlschlacht . In 2018 he became the successor of Jakob Büchler in the National Council .

Paganini is married with three children and held the rank of Fourier in the Swiss military .
