Lukas Andreas Reimann (born September 18, 1982 in Aarau , legal domicile in Oberhof AG ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Live and act

Growing up in Oberhof , Lukas Reimann attended primary school in Herznach and the district school in Frick . After a year abroad in America, he attended the cantonal school at Burggraben in St. Gallen and graduated in 2001 with the Matura in economics and law. From 2001 Reimann studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Zurich , later at the Swiss Open University . Lukas Reimann is a member of the Board of Directors of Schweizerzeit Verlags AG and regularly publishes articles in the national conservative newspaper Schweizerzeit . In April 2008, together with business partners from Germany and Luxembourg, he founded the financial institution SWAG AG - Swiss Securities Settlement Company, based in St. Gallen, where he was a member of the Board of Directors until he left in February 2009. Reimann is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Spring Water and Well Foundation, which was founded in 2008 and is based in Wil SG .

Reimann is a simple soldier in the Swiss Army . In 2003 he graduated from the recruiting school as an air force intelligence soldier in the Theodor Real barracks at the Dübendorf military airfield .

Lukas Reimann, who lives in Wil SG, is the son of Kurt Reimann (General Secretary of the University of Zurich) and the nephew of the Aargau Council of States Maximilian Reimann . His interests include a. Poker and jazz .

Viewpoints

The smartmap for the National Council election 2011 places Reimann in the right-wing conservative camp, Reimann himself describes his positions as radical-liberal .

Reimann showed political commitment as early as 1999 against the Federal People's Initiative “to protect life and the environment from genetic manipulation” and in 1999 against the “Federal Maternity Insurance Act ”. He also fights against the opening of Swiss universities to foreign students and is committed to preserving national pride.

Reimann opposes treaties between Switzerland and the European Union , the United Nations and NATO . He campaigned against the army reform XXI . Reimann sees Switzerland as threatened by Islamization .

Lukas Reimann campaigned against the transport of slaughtered animals through Switzerland and against the individual keeping of rabbits. He advocates the mandatory declaration of slaughtered meat.

Reimann is fighting against the ban on poker tournaments outside of casinos.

Reimann is an opponent of abortion and a member of the right to life movement and is of the opinion that young people would no longer use contraception because they could have abortions. In this context, he said in an interview in the online edition of the Tages-Anzeiger in July 2014 that “having an abortion instead of using contraception” is “very stupid”.

Political party

In 1999 Reimann was a member of the SVP local party Wil and the young SVP Switzerland. He was a co-founder of the Junge SVP St. Gallen, where he was president from October 2000 to February 2008 and is now an assessor . Since 2001 he has been a member of the board of the SVP Kanton St. Gallen.

Organizations

Lukas Reimann was an enthusiastic fan of the Grasshoppers section ice hockey and was part of the Icehoppers fan group and the Ultras of the Grasshopper football section Fantastic Fanatics. Since 1999 he is a member of the pro-life movement yes to life.

Reimann has been a board member of the Action for an Independent and Neutral Switzerland (AUNS) since 2000, and in April 2014 he took over the presidency from Pirmin Schwander . He is co-founder and co-president of the Young4FUN.ch association founded in 2001 in Wil. There he is part of the editorial team of the newspaper Freie Schweiz . Young4FUN.ch is a member of team (the european alliance of eu-critical movements), where Reimann has been a board member since 2004.

Lukas Reimann is a board member of the Pro Stadtbus Wil interest group and has been a member of the Swiss Apprenticeship Exchange Association since 2003.

Committees

In 2002 Reimann was president of the committee «Spending brake for help in the wrong place» in Wil SG. Reimann counted himself on the referendum committee against the bill "Army XXI - Amendment of the Federal Law on the Army and Military Administration". He was a referendum leader against the parliamentary resolution on the continuation of the free movement of persons and its extension to Romania and Bulgaria as well as a member of the “non-partisan committee against biometric passports and identity cards ”. Furthermore, Reimann was a member of the initiative committees of the federal popular initiatives “For the strengthening of the people's rights in foreign policy (treaties before the people!)” And “Against the building of minarets” .

Reimann became a member of the Cantonal Council of St. Gallen in 2004 at the age of 21 as a candidate for the Young SVP . In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was elected as the youngest member of parliament in the National Council. In his inaugural speech for the 48th legislative period of the parliament, he set his priorities in a policy of deregulation through fewer laws and fewer state spending. Reimann is a member of the National Council's legal committee.

Parliamentary elections 2007

Following the example of the 2000 election campaign of the FDP state chairman of North Rhine-Westphalia Jürgen Möllemann , the portrait of Adolf Hitler was also found on an election campaign poster of the St. Gallen JSVP. As a candidate for the National Council and President of the JSVP St. Gallen, Reimann supported the campaign and came under public criticism.

Free movement of people in 2009

A website of Reimann looked set up by the proponents campaign dabei-bleiben.ch confusingly similar and helped himself to the domain dabeibleiben.ch of Typosquattings . Reimann failed to comply with an order issued by the Meilen District Court to shut down the website.

Reimann received media attention in connection with the come-to-switzerland.com website . On the site, citizens of the EU were asked to take advantage of Swiss social benefits. As it turned out, the author of the site was a former member of the APPD , the owner of the domain was Reimann's business partner of SWAG AG. SWAG AG was listed as an unauthorized financial institution by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority . FDP politicians asked Reimann to disclose his communication data to a neutral body. The economic umbrella organization Economiesuisse accused Reimann of the unswiss style.

Racism allegations

As can be seen in a bulletin of the Federal Commission against Racism , Reimann, as President of the “Youth Against Bilaterals” committee, thanked the Holocaust denier Ernst Indlekofer for a donation and congratulated him on his magazine's successful advertising campaign. Reimann's statements on Islam in 2006 as a cantonal councilor as well as a committee member of the popular initiative “Against the Building of Minarets” in 2007 were classified as verbal racism by the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism . In the National Council debate on May 28, 2008 and in the run-up to the vote on the free movement of persons, Reimann used antigypsy clichés, for which he was criticized in the National Council and in the media.
