Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher (born January 21, 1967 in Wattwil ; resident in Glarus Süd and Trun ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ). From 2018 to 2020 she represented the constituency of St. Gallen in the Cantonal Council of the Canton of St. Gallen . She was elected to the National Council in the 2019 parliamentary elections. She has been President of the FDP Women Switzerland since 2020 .

Life and commitment

Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher studied at the University of St. Gallen Law and graduated in 1990 with the Licentiate (lic.) From. After being admitted to the bar, Vincenz-Stauffacher founded his own law firm in St. Gallen in 1993 and has since worked as an independent lawyer and public notary. In 2013, Vincenz-Stauffacher also completed further training as a collaborative lawyer SVCL. As part of her professional activity, she was a specialist judge at the Insurance Court of the Canton of St. Gallen from 2003 to 2016 and has been the ombudswoman for old age and disability in the Canton of St. Gallen since 2003. Since 2018, she has also been responsible for the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden and Appenzell Ausserrhoden in this position . In addition, Vincenz-Stauffacher has also been President of the St. Gallen Victim Support Association and Appenzell Region since 2016 .

In addition to her professional activities, Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher also does volunteer work. From 2005 to 2014 she was President of the St. Gallen Women's Center, the largest umbrella organization for women's issues in the canton of St. Gallen. In addition, Vincenz-Stauffacher has been politically active for the FDP in the canton of St. Gallen for years. From 2004 to 2006 she was president of the FDP local party Gaiserwald and from 1997 to 2005 she was a member of the party leadership of the FDP cantonal party. From 2000 to 2005, Vincenz-Stauffacher was Vice President of the FDP cantonal party. From 2018 to 2020 she represented the constituency of St. Gallen in the St. Gallen Cantonal Council. On March 10, 2019, Vincenz ran for the Council of States replacement elections in the canton of St. Gallen to succeed Federal Councilor Karin Keller-Sutter for the Council of States . With 25,071 votes, she achieved the second-best result after Benedikt Würth Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher also ran for the second ballot and reached second place on May 19, 2019 with 36,550 votes.

Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher is married, has two daughters and lives in Abtwil .

Susanne Vincenz-Stauffacher was elected to the National Council on October 20, 2019 with 22,951 votes. She has a seat in the UREK (Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy). Then she is also part of the BeK (pardon commission) and the GK (court commission). In May 2020 she was elected President of the FDP Women Switzerland , she succeeded Doris Fiala .
