Economy and Infrastructure

The town's economy used to be very agricultural. Today, many residents commute to work in the Vordertaunus or the Rhine-Main area . Canton is the largest local employer . The savings and loan association Niederlauken merged with Raiffeisenbank Grävenwiesbach in 1972.

The village has a community center and a youth center . In order to ensure the local supply of daily necessities, the association “Unser Laden Niederlauken” runs a neighborhood shop , which, however, cannot be kept alive without subsidies.

As part of the village renewal, the old bakery was also renovated. Some restored half-timbered houses are gems of the place.
