Niederquembach is a district of the municipality of Schöffengrund in the Lahn-Dill district in Central Hesse .
Geographical location
Niederquembach is located in the eastern Hintertaunus in the north of the Taunus Nature Park . The Quembach flows into the Solmsbach near the village . On the western edge of the village, the meeting state roads 3052 and 3283. The village is located on the former Solms Bach Valley Railway . The next larger city is Wetzlar . The highest point near Niederquembach is the pulpit at 326 meters above sea level.
Neighboring towns are Altenkirchen (southwest), Neukirchen (northwest), Schwalbach (north), Oberquembach (east) and Kraftsolms (south).

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1314. After the Second World War , displaced Danube Swabians settled here . A village fire destroyed the whole place. In 1603 a new church was built.
Territorial reform
On December 31, 1971, the independent municipality of Niederquembach merged with five other municipalities in the course of the Hessian regional reform to form the unitary municipality of Schöffengrund.
