The Niklasgraben , on the lower reaches of the Teichhubbach , also Niklasbach or Niklbach (Czech Včelínek , also Sedlecký potok ) is a right tributary of the Thaya in the Czech Republic and Lower Austria .
course
The Niklasgraben rises at the northern exit of Kleinschweinbarth in the Weinviertel , Austria . Its upper course initially runs in a northeasterly direction at the western foot of the Schweinbarther mountain (337 m above sea level) past the Waschberg zone . At the Kóta hill (216 m nm) the brook reaches the Austrian-Czech border and forms the border brook between the two countries over a length of two kilometers. At Šibeniční vrch ( Galgenberg , 238 m nm) the Niklasgraben / Včelínek changes its direction to the east; The border bridge between Brünner Strasse and Silnice I / 52 leads across the stream . The Včelínek then flows into Czech territory, where water from the upper Neumühler Thaya reservoir is fed to it via the Brod-Bulhary-Valtice Canal. Then the stream is dammed in the Nový rybník ( Portzteich or Lehteich ) and crossed by the Břeclav – Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou railway line.
The middle course of the Včelínek leads past Sedlec ( Voitelsbrunn ) into the Nesyt ( Nimmersatt or Steindammteich ) pond - with 322 hectares the largest pond in Moravia. In Hlohovec ( Bischofswarth ), the cascade of the feeding from Včelínek sets Lednické rybníky with the Hlohovecký rybník ( Bischofswarther pond or boundary pond , 104 hectares), Prostřední rybník ( Mitterteich , 49 hectares) and the Mlýnský rybník ( Mühlteich also Apollo , 107 hectares ) continued. The Boří les – Lednice railway line runs over the Prostřední rybník dam ; the Lednické rybníky train station is located between the Prostřední rybník and the Mlýnský rybník; the Boří les ( Theimwald ) extends south of the two ponds .
On its lower reaches the Včelínek reaches the Dolnomoravský úval ( southern March basin ). Southeast of Lednice ( Eisgrub ) of the stream changes its direction to the southeast and flows at the edge of Thayaauen parallel to Thaya and their old branches to Charvátská Nova Ves ( Oberthemenau ) over. The alluvial forests on the left side of the Včelínek are part of the Niva Dyje Nature Park . Between Poštorná ( Unterthemenau ) and Břeclav ( Lundenburg ) the Včelínek flows into the Thaya relief arm ( odlehčovací rameno Dyje ) after 27 km opposite the Včelín pond below the weir . The average flow at the mouth is 0.19 m³ / s.
In Austria the Mühlbach is seen as the upper course of the Teichhubbach and the Niklasgraben as a tributary.
history
The Niklasgraben formed the historical border between Moravia and Lower Austria from the Nikolsburger Galgenteich ( Šibeník ) down to the Thayaauen . After the creation of the large fish ponds, the border was moved to their south bank; only the Porzteich remained divided, here the border ran over the Porz Island . In 1826 the entire Porzteich including the island was assigned to the Moravian rule of Nikolsburg. At the Bischofswarther pond, Mitterteich and Mühlteich, a new boundary was drawn through the middle of the pond in the 19th century. In the Thaya floodplains the brook flowed back into Lower Austria and flowed into a Thaya arm opposite Lundenburg Castle at the border bridge; the former mouth is the Včelín pond, which was created after the river was straightened in the 20th century.
Through the Treaty of Saint-Germain , the newly founded Czechoslovakia was assigned larger areas to the right of the Niklasgraben between the Portzer pond and Unterthemenau including the city of Feldsberg . Since then, the Niklasgraben has only formed the state border on a short section between the Galgenteich and Portzer Teich between Mikulov and Drasenhofen .
