Norbert Stöß

Norbert Stöß (born June 3, 1958 in Dresden ) is a German actor and voice actor . His name appears in some opening and closing credits in the spelling Norbert Stöss .

Life

Norbert Stöß grew up in Plauen in the Vogtland . He received his training at the "Hans Otto" theater school in Leipzig , where he played his first roles at the theater there. The first film work was done while studying. Among other things, he played the "Latte" in the film adaptation of Frank Vogel A Handful of Hope .

Until 1987 he was engaged on the stages of the city of Gera , where he worked with the directors Frank Castorf, Leander Haußmann , Michael Helle and Klaus Erforth . There he played for example Launcelot in The Dragon by Evgeni Schwarz , Troilus in Troilus and Cressida and Malachow in Take Care of Malachow by Agranowski. In December 1986 he applied to leave the Federal Republic of Germany; In September 1987 he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment after denunciation and released after five months. He was then no longer allowed to play in Gera and was released to West Germany in March 1988.

This was followed by engagements at the Stadttheater Würzburg (1988–1989), the Städtische Bühnen Münster (1989–1991), the Theater Dortmund (1991–1993), the Stadttheater Konstanz (1993–1996), the State Theater Mainz (1996–1999), at the Staatstheater Kassel (1999–2000) and at the Theater Lübeck (2000–2001).

From 2001 to 2006 he was part of the Berliner Ensemble for the first time . Both directed by Sebastian Baumgarten. In 2018/19 he played at the Volksbühne in Haußmann's State Security Theater under the direction of Leander Haußmann.

Since 2009 Stöß has been teaching at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

Stöß is married to the singer Antonia Munding.
