The Otoyol 4 motorway ( Anadolu Otoyolu in Turkish , O-4 for short ) is a motorway that connects the cities of Istanbul and Ankara .
The motorway is three lanes on both sides. The road, built between 1990 and 2007, connects to the O-2 in Istanbul and ends at the O-20 . Motorway feeder roads with two lanes in each direction lead to the interchanges Samandira, Kurtköy, Şekerpinar, Gebze, İzmit Batı and Gerede.
The highway comprises six tunnels, of which the Bolu tunnel near the city of Bolu is the longest at 3,200 meters.
