The Oberbootsmann is a rank of the Bundeswehr and former German armed forces.

The Oberbootsmann is one of the ranks of the Bundeswehr for naval uniform wearers . The legal basis is the order of the Federal President on the rank designations and uniforms of soldiers and the Soldiers Act .

Rank badge

The rank badges of the head boatman show two angles with the point upwards on both lower sleeves . The shoulder badges are designed similarly. The epaulettes are also edged with a closed braid .

Others

The rank designation for air force and army uniform carriers of the same rank is Oberfeldwebel . With regard to authority, appointment , pay , the subordinate and superordinate ranks, similarly also with regard to the service positions, Oberbootsmen and Oberfeldwebel are on an equal footing.

In the People's Navy there was no rank of the same or similar name. The Obermeister was comparable to the rank of the Bundeswehr . Lower rank warrior was the master , higher rank the chief of staff .

In the Navy there was a rank of Oberbootsmann (equal rank: Oberfeldwebel, Obersteuermann, Obermaschinist etc .; today comparable to NATO OR-7). Rank Low was the bar boatman , rank higher the bar top boatman .
