Oberpreilipp is a district of the city of Rudolstadt in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .
geography
Oberpreilipp is located east of the Saale at the foot of the vineyard near the Saale. Citizens in Schwarza or Cumbach can cross the Saale via bridges via local roads . The terrain on the right-hand side of the Saale floodplain is mostly cultivated as grassland. To the southeast, the wooded Kulm towers above the landscape and also the vineyard as the foothill of the Kulm. Agricultural lands are not only flat, but with the beginning of the slopes docked .
history
In December 1074 the place was first mentioned in a document. The area of the Preilipp places was settled early. The vineyard near Oberpreilipp is the foothill of the Kulm. From there you have a wide view of the country, especially the Saale floodplain. Here was a fortified hilltop settlement from which finds from the Urnfield Age and the beginning of the Iron Age were recovered. In addition to agriculture, viticulture and vegetable growing played a role. From 1991 to 1996 the place belonged to the administrative community Uhlstädt . On January 1, 1997, the place was incorporated into Rudolstadt.
