The Okres Stropkov (German district Stroppkau ) is an administrative unit in the east of Slovakia with 20,442 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and an area of ​​389 km².

Historically, the district lies for the most part in the former Semplin county (east), a small part in the northwest around the places Duplín , Tisinec , Krušinec , Vyškovce , Vislava , Oľšavka , Gribov and Kožuchovce in the former Sáros county (see also the list of historical counties Hungary ).
