Potoky (until 1927 Slovak "Potoka"; Hungarian Pataki - until 1902 Potoka ) is a municipality in northeastern Slovakia . The name means something like "brooks" in German.
In 2001, 83 out of 87 inhabitants stated Slovak as their nationality.
location
The place is about six kilometers north of Stropkov and just as far away southeast of Svidník in the Ondavská vrchovina mountainous region .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1551.
In 1910 it had 116 - mostly Russian - residents. By the Treaty of Trianon which was district Stropkov in Zemplén County in the Kingdom of Hungary .
