Vyškovce (Hungarian visco - until 1907 Viskóc ) is a municipality in the north- east of Slovakia with 126 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Stropkov , a circle of kraj Prešovský belongs.
geography
The village is located in the Ondavská vrchovina mountain range within the Low Beskydy Mountains , in the valley of the Vislavka brook , which is part of the Ondava river system . The municipality is hilly and partially forested. The center of the village is at an altitude of 212 m nm and is six kilometers from Stropkov .
Neighboring communities are Vislava in the north, Bukovce in the northeast, Chotča in the southeast, Krušinec in the southwest and Duplín and Potoky in the west.
history
The place was founded in the 14th century and mentioned for the first time in 1414 as Wysk or Wyskwagasa . It belonged to the Makovica estate and in 1427 had a total of 28 porta .
In 1787 the village had 27 houses and 178 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 32 houses and 245 inhabitants who lived on agriculture and livestock. In the second half of the 19th century there were major waves of emigration.
The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 140 inhabitants lived in Vyškovce, 102 of them Slovaks, 22 Russians and one Roma; one resident indicated a different ethnic group. 14 residents gave no answer. 101 residents committed themselves to the Greek Catholic Church, 18 residents to the Orthodox Church and six residents to the Roman Catholic Church. One resident was without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 14 residents.
