Miňovce (Hungarian Minyevágása - until 1902 Minyóc ) is a municipality in the Stropkov district in eastern Slovakia .
The village of Miňovce on the left (eastern) bank of the Ondava is about halfway between the district town of Stropkov and the Veľká Domaša reservoir. The Ondava Valley is around one to two kilometers wide in the Miňovces area. The surrounding mountains of the Ondavská vrchovina (Ondauer Uplands) reach heights of 500 meters above sea level.
Miňovce is located on trunk road 15 ( Slovak name: I / 15 ), which leads from Svidník to Vranov nad Topľou and functions as part of the transit route from southeast Poland to Hungary .
Miňovce is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Breznica in the north, Brusnica in the northeast, Mrázovce in the southeast, Turany nad Ondavou in the south, Lomné in the southwest and Nižná Olšava in the northwest.
In 1430 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document. The Greek Catholic Church was established in 1838.
The population of the municipality has increased in recent years (1991: 310 inhabitants; 2007: 359 inhabitants). The population consists of almost 99% Slovaks . 73% of the inhabitants stated that their denomination was Greek-Catholic , approx. 25% profess to the Orthodox Church .
