The Okres Poprad is an administrative unit in the east of Slovakia km² with 104,320 inhabitants (2004) and an area of 1,123.
Historically, the district is mostly in the former Zips county , a smaller part in the east around the places Štrbské Pleso , Podbanské (both districts of Vysoké Tatry ), Štrba and Liptovská Teplička belongs to the former Liptov county and the area with the village of Vernár belongs to Gemer and Kleinhont counties (see also the list of historical counties in Hungary ).
