history
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1294, but there was already a settlement at the time of Great Moravia . The agriculturally oriented Vydrník arose within the estate of the nearby Spišský Štiavnik Monastery . The current Roman Catholic Church was built in 1802, on the site of a Gothic church from the 13th century. In 1840 a small medicinal bath was built on the site of the local mineral springs.
