After the first run, Austria I led with 26 hundredths of a second (but on SUI I), but after the first day the Appelt sled was 7 hundredths behind GER I (116.52), which compared to Appelt (116.59) and Neither (116,75) had turned the tables. In the third run another lead for Appelt (with an addition of 175.11 to 175.20 compared to Hoppe) - in the fourth run Appelt saved two from a 9-hundredth lead.
