Organ builder Reinhard Hüfken
Organ builder Reinhard Hüfken is a German organ builder based in Halberstadt .
history
Reinhard Hüfken (born March 17, 1951 in Tangermünde ; † September 2, 2019) completed his training as a cabinet maker from 1967 to 1969. This was followed by a three-year apprenticeship with Alexander Schuke Potsdam organ building and from 1973 to 1978 an apprenticeship with VEB Schuke. In 1978, Hüfken set up his own workshop in Halberstadt. Since Wilhelm Sohnle (1910–1993) did not take over the business as planned, there were two registered organ builders in Halberstadt for a few years.
From 1982 to 1991 Reinhard Hüfken worked with one to three journeymen and concentrated on the restoration of historical organs of various tractor systems . In the winter months, positives were built on the basis of a two-foot principal . Hüfken passed the master craftsman examination in 1983.
The son Johannes Hüfken was an apprentice at the Glatter-Götz organ building workshop in Owingen from 2001-2004 and has been working in the Halberstadt company ever since. In 2012 he passed the master's examination. At times, the company had up to ten employees, in 2017 there were seven employees.
