The Osburger Hunsrück with a size of 62 square kilometers is a natural spatial unit in Rhineland-Palatinate and lies at about 430 to 500 meters above sea level.

It lies north of the Osburger Hochwald , which has a size of 75 square kilometers, west of the Hermeskeiler Mulde (156 km²), south of the Leiwener Moselle rim heights (42 km²) and east of the Ruwerengtal (40 km²).

The closest cities are Trier , Schweich and Hermeskeil .

Running waters in the Osburger Hunsrück are the Riveris , which is dammed up with the Thielenbach to the Riveristalsperre , and the Feller Bach with its tributaries.

The area extends in whole or in part over the districts of Osburg , Farschweiler , Lorscheid , Herl , Thomm , Waldrach , Bescheid , Naurath , Mehring , Riol , Fell , Riveris , Morscheid , Sommerau , Bonerath , Holzerath and Schöndorf as well as smaller areas of Büdlich , Detzem and Hinzenburg .

Outside the built-up areas there are predominantly arable and pasture areas as well as vineyards and orchards in the lower river valleys .
