Ouleymata Sarr (2015)

Ouleymata Sarr (born October 8, 1995 in Cambrai ) is a French football player . The goal- scoring striker is currently playing for the Girondins Bordeaux .

Club career

Born in northern France , Ouleymata Sarr moved to Évreux with her Mauritanian parents at the age of three , where she later preferred to play football on the streets with boys. There she saw the still active professional Mathieu Bodmer in 2009 , who was able to persuade her to join the women's department at Évreux FC , although the then 13-year-old was actually "not interested in playing with girls in a club" . However, with a two-year break, she had previously played in a male D youth team at ALM Évreux . Until 2013 she went through the female youth teams of the ÉFC.

Subsequently, the capital club Paris Saint-Germain FC signed the central attacker, who was 1.75 m tall, for their U-19 team. Coach Farid Benstiti used Ouleymata Sarr for the first time in December 2013 in a first division point game (away at AS Muret ), where she also scored an instant goal during the 30 minutes she was on the pitch. But although she scored six goals in only eight (mostly short) league appearances in the following season 2014/15 , she stayed with PSG in view of the international competition ( Kosovare Asllani , Lindsey Horan , Marie-Laure Delie , Linda Bresonik , Cristiane , Anja Mittag ) only played a role as a supplementary player, at least in the 2015 European Cup final with a 60-second appearance against 1. FFC Frankfurt . This only changed in the 2016/17 season , in which she played 17 of the 22 league matches - but again only seven in the starting lineup and with only one goal. Benstiti's successor Patrice Lair also switched to the French cup final in 2017 for just under half an hour ; in it, she appeared on penalties as the eighth and final PSG player, but did not put her penalty in the goal guarded by Olympique Lyons Méline Gérard . 13 days later, when these two French teams met again in the final of the Women's Champions League , the coach then completely waived Sarr's participation, even though she had previously played seven of PSG's eight games at European level.

She then decided to leave Paris to get more playing time. She returned to the north of the country to have been promoted from the second division , Lille OSC , and Ouleymata Sarr was the most successful goalscorer for the new league LOSC in the 2017/18 season . Twelve months later she was in the national cup final with Lille and scored the consolation goal for her team in a 3-1 draw against Olympique Lyon. However, at this point it was already clear that the LOSC would have to relegate to the second division. Sarr has scored 14 goals in 38 first division games. In July 2019, she joined the Girondins Bordeaux , where her goal danger was initially less evident alongside Viviane Asseyi and Khadija Shaw . In February 2020, however, she decided an important game almost all by herself: in the cup quarter-final match at HSC Montpellier , she scored all three of her women's goals, bringing Bordeaux into the penalty shoot-out after 1: 3 deficit , overcoming the opposing goalkeeper once more and at the end of this year she and her teammates were happy to make it to the semi-finals.

In the national team

Ouleymata Sarr was only considered relatively late in the French age group selection team, namely as an A-youth. There, however, she was very quick to the key players in the U-19 (six operations, two hits) and the U-20 (eight games, a hit), all in 2014. Even with the U-20 World Cup 2014 in the French juniors were third, they played all six games of their women. As of 2016, eight international B matches followed with four goals, mainly at the Istria Cup , whereby she even became the tournament's top scorer in the 2016 playoff .

Nonetheless, her first appointment to the women's national team came as a bit of a surprise, because French women's football is particularly well equipped with attackers for those born between 1995 and 1998, namely Kadidiatou Diani , Marie-Antoinette Katoto , Valérie Gauvin , Delphine Cascarino , Perle Morroni , Marie-Charlotte Léger and Clara Matéo . But Sarr was not only in the first line-up of coach Corinne Diacre , who had replaced Olivier Echouafni in this role in September 2017 and announced a new start with regard to the World Cup in her own country (2019) , she was also used in both friendly matches . In the second match against Spain she was on the pitch from kick-off and scored the 3: 1 with a header, her first goal for the Bleues ; She had already prepared the 2-0 through Eugénie Le Sommer with a one- two and back- heel trick . It was not until the spring of 2020, almost two years after her last appearance, that Sarr was back in the group of players appointed by Diacre for the Tournoi de France and also made two short appearances there.

In the meantime, Ouleymata Sarr has played twelve full international matches and scored three goals. (As of March 10, 2020)
