Pantego is an American community in the northeast of the state of Texas , USA near Arlington . Pantego is part of the Tarrant County administrative district in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area . It is located about 50 km east of the city of Dallas and about 30 km west of Fort Worth and has 2,505 inhabitants (Census 2014).
history
Pantego was founded in 1949. Originally, the Spanish explorer Luis de Moscoso Alvarado and his team set up camp here in 1542 . Around 1841, General Edward H. Tarrant and his troops fought with Indians in this area. The first census was carried out in 1790.
Current mayor is Doug Davis. He replaced Melody Paradise as mayor in May 2017.

Pantego is bordered to the west, north and east by the City of Arlington and to the south by Dalworthington Gardens . Pantego is located midway between Fort Worth in the west and Dallas in the east, in the US state of Texas. The next largest city is the city of Arlington, about 10 km north .

school and education
Pantego has neither its own college nor a university, only the Pantego Christian Academy with elementary, middle and high schools . However, students can also attend High Schools Hill Elementary School, Bailey Junior High School, and Arlington High School, each in Arlington. Arlington also offers Tarrant County College and the University of Texas at Arlington .
Sports
In Pantego the local high school called Pantego Christian Sports Team has various teams in different sports in the running. The Pantego Panthers offer boys baseball, basketball, football, soccer and wrestling. Girls can join the panthers in basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
There are sports teams from various American professional leagues in the vicinity. For example, Arlington is home to the Texas Rangers (MLB - baseball), Dallas the Dallas Stars (NHL - ice hockey), Dallas Mavericks (NBA - basketball), Dallas Cowboys (NFL - football) and Dallas FC (soccer - MLS).
Parks
Pantego has its own park, the Bicentennial Park, which opened in 1976 and expanded in 1990. In addition to extensive meadows and trees, the Bicentennial Park also offers a community center, a hiking trail and a children's playground.,
