Patrick Manzecchi

Patrick Manzecchi (born July 2, 1969 in Paris ) is a German jazz drummer who has lived in Konstanz since 1977 .

Live and act

Although his father, Franco Manzecchi (1931–1979), was also an important European drummer, it was only after his death that Patrick Manzecchi became interested in the art of drumming, learning it and turning it into a profession.

He is valued both as a sensitive companion and as an impulsive sound painter. Festivals & tours at home and abroad, radio and TV recordings, film music, workshop seminars and more than 40 CD recordings underpin his reputation as a reliable musician who supports the group sound of his respective projects in the best possible way.

Manzecchi works mainly with musicians from southwest Germany and Switzerland, z. B. with Thomas Siffling , Karoline Höfler , Andi Maile , Olaf Stötzler, Andy Herrmann, Christoph Sprenger, Jens Loh, Jürgen Bothner, Marcel Schefer, Marianne Racine , Barbara Balzan , Lorenzo Petrocca , Joo Kraus , Günter Weiss, Martin Schrack , Harald Haerter , Gregor Hübner , Carl Ludwig Hübsch , Jürgen Waidele , Olivia Trummer or the Cornelius Claudio Kreusch Trio with guest star Bobby Watson . He also plays with other greats from the USA such as Sheila Jordan , Scott Hamilton , Mark Soskin , Barry Harris , Richie Beirach , Arthur Blythe , Teddy Edwards , David Friedman , Tim Hagans , Allan Praskin , Gary Barone , Harvie Swartz , Reggie Johnson , Grégoire Maret , George Mraz , Dick Oatts , Gary Smulyan , Sandy Patton and Jimmy Woode . He has already been heard with the Italian saxophone legend Gianni Basso as well as with the Swiss drummer Pierre Favre in a duo. He toured with the Sardinian trumpeter Paolo Fresu in 2014 and with Pee Wee Ellis in 2015, with whom he toured again in 2017; this time also at the side of Fred Wesley , with whom Ellis had already worked in the band of soul legend James Brown . In December 2019 he was on tour with the singer Lyambiko and the guitarist Torsten Goods in an All Star formation put together by Thomas Siffling.
