Paweł Wszołek [ ˈpavɛw ˈvʂɔwɛk ] (born April 30, 1992 in Tczew ) is a Polish football player .

Career

Wszołek began his career in his hometown with Wisła Tczew . In summer 2004 he moved to Lechia Gdańsk , but returned to Wisła Tczew after just one season . For the 2009/10 season he then moved to the reserve team of the first division Polonia Warsaw , with whom he played in the separate junior league Młoda Ekstraklasa . At the beginning of the 2010/11 season , he made the leap into the professional squad. On November 13, 2010, the 13th matchday of the 2010/11 season , he came to his professional debut when he came on in the home game against Ruch Chorzów (3-1) in the 74th minute for Euzebiusz Smolarek . While he only came to seven missions in the first season, he fought for a regular place in the course of the 2011/12 season.

In January 2013, Wszołek signed a contract with Hannover 96 that ran until 2016. However, he did not appear for the medical check on two dates. The move failed. The player criticized his agent and the management of Polonia Warsaw and criticized that his opinion on the transfer was hardly heard. He told the Rzeczpospolita newspaper : "I felt like a prostitute sold to the West".

At the end of the 2012/13 season , his contract with Polonia was dissolved. He then moved to Sampdoria Genoa in Italy in the summer of 2013 .

National team

On October 12, 2012 Wszołek made his debut for the Polish national team when he was on the starting line-up in the friendly against South Africa (1-0).

Before that he played for the U-19, U-20 and U-21 of the Polish Football Association .
